In Chapter 4, we discussed the market orientation for the new companies from the normative point of view by using previous research and lessons derived from the market examples. In this chapter, we will look at the antecedents of market orientation. The antecedents of market orientation are namely senior management characteristics, organizational characteristics, political behavior, and interdepartmental dynamics, which will be explained briefly.
