The Bitcoin daemon process is created when bitcoind is executed by creating a configuration file. The basic configuration file consists of a username and password for the JSON-RPC interface. There are several options that can be specified while running to Bitcoin node to alter its behavior. These options can also be specified in the configuration file. Execute bitcoind --help to list out the available options. bitcoind can be executed after the configuration file is created:
$ bitcoind -daemon
This will start Bitcoin Core as a background process. It may take several minutes to load the block index and verify the blocks. The bitcoin-cli tool can then be used to check the status once the bitcoind process has been created. ...
