Stellar

Stellar is an open source platform that supports cross-border transactions by performing an exchange of value between a pair of currencies. It was designed to connect banks, payment systems, and the end users with a more reliable system at a cheaper cost.

The Stellar network is a collection of distributed nodes called Stellar Cores that functions using Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP). Any payment application can be built on top of the Stellar network. Stellar provides an HTTP API called Horizon to communicate with the network.
