Testnet is the Bitcoin blockchain version that was created solely for testing purposes. The testnet blockchain works on the same network as mainnet, with features such as wallets, transactions, and mining. The only difference is that the coins circulated in testnet don't have any monetary value. Testnet was created as a test network that can be used by developers to check features and fixes before they are deployed in mainnet.
