The person you choose as your guide is critical to the kind of resolution you will get. Whether you’re alienated from your partner of 15 years, fighting an antitrust battle with the Justice Department, or dissolving a two-year marriage, the style of your advisor is critical.
If you choose a professional to resolve a conflict, make sure you create a partnership and clearly define your desired outcome. Use the agreement process in Chapter 20 to build a joint vision! The process will serve you well. It will help you to choose the right person.
