It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Structural mutations
The mutation operator that's specific to NEAT can change a connection's strength (weight) and the network's structure. There are two main types of structural mutations:
- Adding a new connection between nodes
- Adding a new node to the network
