The Previous Section

The previous section (“Standard Operation in Fast, Error-Free Environment” on page 362) assumed the following:

• No delay in request or response packet delivery. The request packets issued by the requester QP's SQ Logic made their way to the responder QP's RQ Logic in an expeditious manner. Likewise, the response packets issued by the responder QP's RQ Logic made their way to the requester QP's SQ Logic in an expeditious manner.

• Quick generation of responses. The responder QP's RQ Logic processed each request packet rather quickly and issued the corresponding response packet back to the requester QP.

• No packets lost. No request or response packets are “lost” in the fabric due to errors of any sort.
