Summary
Java has always provided strong security features for Java applications. The JAAS package continues that trend and expands on the security features of Java to provide authentication and authorization features that work with existing Java security features to provide added application security.
As J2EE developers, we need to understand the JAAS package to be able to capitalize on its features. This chapter examined the JAAS package and provided examples that demonstrated how it can be used to provide authentication and authorization and how it can be customized to provide specific features as required by your application.
