When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Developing EJBs
What should be noted about EJBs is that an application server is required to develop and deploy these components. The Sun J2EE download from its Web site includes a development version of an application server, but this is not considered appropriate for a production environment. Application servers range in price from nothing for open-source products (JBoss) to mid-range prices (JRun and Orion) to high range (IPlanet, WebLogic and WebSphere). (The Web site www.flashline.com has a very good application server matrix, which includes a comparison of application servers, their EJB compliance, their prices, and most importantly, user reviews.)
Not all application servers that support the development of EJBs are considered EJB-compliant. ...
