For Figure 4.21, we varied the lighting in Figure 4.15 slightly. We again

used a larger light and raised it a bit so it raked more gently across the

dumplings. We added a silver reflector just under the camera to soften the

shadow and used a small gobo over the dipping sauce.

In summary, food is just like everything else. Look at what you have in

front of you. As we’ve said earlier, don’t memorize the diagrams. Learn the

principles and then adapt!
