With every new version of Microsoft Office, the installation process gets easier for Microsoft Excel and all of the Office programs. It might not seem that way, however, because every new version usually takes longer to install and eats up more hard disk space. For most of this appendix, we'll assume that you purchased Excel as part of a Microsoft Office 2003 package, which is how most of us get Excel these days.
