Excel provides plenty of options for formatting the appearance and arrangement of both entire data series and individual markers within a series. Many of these options apply to all charts, whereas others are for specific chart types. You'll look at the generally applicable options first, followed by options for specific chart types.
You can apply many formatting options to data markers both singularly and as a whole series. To select a single marker, first select its series. Then click the marker you want to format. If Excel cannot apply your formatting command to the individual marker, it applies it to the entire series.
