Sorting Items
If you sort field items using the standard Sort command, Excel will sort all instances of your field items and preserve the sort order when you pivot the table. For example, to generate a descending sort of the Channel items as shown in Figure 30-15, you could select cell B6, choose Data, Sort, and specify a descending sort. Excel would then present the Channel items in the order Mail Order, International, Domestic in every place where those items occur.
