Selecting Elements of a PivotTable

To select a single cell in a PivotTable, click it the normal way—that is, while the mouse pointer is a fat white cross. To select a field item in such a way that all identical items and all associated data are also selected, position your mouse on the edge of the item so that the mouse pointer turns into a small black arrow, and then click.

For example, if you position your mouse at the left edge of cell B6 in Figure 30-2 and click while the pointer is a small black arrow, Excel selects all Domestic items (B6, B11, B16, and so on) and all the Domestic data. A second click in the same place now refines the selection so that only the first Domestic item (B6) and its data (C6:M6) are selected.
