It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Saving and Publishing Excel Files in HTML
When you save an XLS file to a Web or FTP site, other users can read that file only if they have Excel. To save Excel data to the Internet or to an intranet site in such a way that users can read the data in their Web browsers, you need to save it in HTML, the markup language of the Internet.
