I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 4. Running Programs and Files from the Dock
The point of owning a computer is to be able to run programs that make the computer do something useful or fun. The programs you run determine what your computer can do. If you want to write letters or balance your budget, you can run a word processor or a spreadsheet program. If you want to do something a bit more fun, you can run astrology programs, horse-handicapping programs, or lottery-number-choosing programs. With the right program, you can make your Macintosh do practically anything that doesn’t involve manual labor.
