Passwords won’t keep out a determined intruder, but they will keep out the casual snooping of a family member or co-worker. If you’d be in big trouble if someone read the data on your laptop after you forgot it in a coffee shop (or if you just want to be safe!), try encrypting the hard disk (see Chapter 55).
