Making an Appointment
When you have an appointment, you need to define the date and time. You can also specify the estimated length of time and the location of that appointment as well as other information, such as a reminder of materials to bring or people who should be there.
To store an appointment in iCal, do this:
Start iCal.
Choose a view for your calendar such as Day or Week (if you want to see your available times) or Month (if you want to do long-range planning).
In the Day or Week view, click and drag the mouse to define the time block you want to schedule your appointment in. In the Month view, just double-click inside a day that you want to schedule an appointment in. iCal displays a New Event in the displayed calendar.
