Your Macintosh may be great for playing games, drawing pictures, listening to music, or watching movies. But at some point, you’ll probably want to browse the Internet, download programs and updates, or share your files with others. To do this, you need to get on the Internet.
The two most common ways of getting online are plugging a cable into your Macintosh or connecting through a wireless (Wi-Fi) network. As a general rule, wired networks (that is, connecting a cable to your Macintosh) will be faster and more reliable, but wireless networks are far more convenient.
