It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
1.6. Security, protection and fault tolerance in system design
Emphasis has been given to the dynamic behaviour of systems in which many concurrent activities may be in progress. Support for concurrency is a major aspect of system design, and development of the material presented in this book will be motivated by the support for concurrency in systems. Orthogonal to this development is the fact that all systems have some degree of requirement for security, protection and tolerance of errors and failures. When the details of system design and implementation are given, these aspects will also be covered.
