What You’ll Learn

This chapter will focus on the core concepts behind capturing and using a user’s social profile information, making external data requests from a container, and porting applications from one container to another. Our specific focus areas will be:

  • Porting a Facebook application to an OpenSocial container, and porting applications between different OpenSocial containers

  • Accessing and using user profile information

  • Increasing an application’s base with user friendships

At the end of the chapter, we will roll the lessons we’ve learned into a project to build a full social application that promotes user growth.
