I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Building blocks of the Akka Toolkit
The main building blocks of Akka Toolkit are as listed:
- ActorSystem
- Actor
- ActorContext
- ExecutionContext
We can depict these components in a diagram, as shown here:
As shown in the preceding diagram, the Actor System is the base for the entire Akka Toolkit. It provides a runtime environment for Akka Actors and supports many features (refer to the Akka ActorSystem section for more details). On top of the Actor System, Akka uses a couple of components, such as Actor Context, Actor Materializer, and more, and finally, user-defined and system Actors.
