How a Circuit Breaker works

As shown in the preceding diagram, a Circuit Breaker component sits between our Reactive System and External System or Component. It works as a mediator to our Reactive System.

Our Reactive System sends end user requests to the External System through this component. We will discuss how a Circuit Breaker works with the help of its states or stages.

A Circuit Breaker component has the following three stages:

  • Closed
  • Open
  • Half-Open
