Asynchronous Programming with Scala
In this chapter, we will discuss how Scala supports the asynchronous programming API, using the following two APIs—Scala Future API and Scala Async API.
The Scala asynchronous programming (AP) API supports both Concurrency and true Parallelism very well, in an asynchronous way.
We will also discuss how to use the Scala Future API in the Play Framework and the Akka Toolkit on a high level, so that we can write Reactive applications using the Scala Future API in the coming chapters, using Play, Scala, Akka, and Akka Streams.
