It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The traditional backpressure approach
There are many traditional backpressure approaches to solving these kinds of problems. However, we will take buffer-based backpressure approach and understand it well to find out the problems.
This approach may have the following two scenarios:
- Push-based backpressure approach
- Pull-based backpressure approach
Let's consider the following two kinds of scenarios for both push-based and pull-based backpressure applications:
- Fast Producer / Slow Consumer
- Slow Producer / Fast Consumer
