is for RESULT, and it’s an absolutely
critical component of the STAR
®
model.
What represents a RESULT, though? Previously, we may
have felt that anything less than solving the problem or giving
a team member a complete set of instructions to follow would have
been a failure. But again, this is us doing the work, and the other per-
son hasn’t had an opportunity to derive any personal benefit from the
interaction (remember, they came to you); we’ve simply directed them.
So we need to reframe what a RESULT might look like.
