It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary

The distinction between the physical and logical portions of the Active Directory design are important because they are designed based on two distinct sets of requirements. The logical design is driven by business requirements. The physical design is driven by the network infrastructure and the performance of Active Directory services.
