So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Windows 2000 Remote Installation Services
The Windows 2000 remote installation service (RIS) is another component that ships with Windows 2000 Server. With RIS, it is possible to deploy Windows 2000 to the desktop. By coupling RIS with the IntelliMirror services, a complete desktop management strategy can be employed.
Deploying an operating system is no trivial task, and automating it with a software deployment application can be even more challenging. However, with the proper planning and the implementation of supporting services, remote operating system installation can greatly reduce the cost of deployment, as well as reduce the cost of desktop support.
