The Windows 2000 remote installation service (RIS) is another component that ships with Windows 2000 Server. With RIS, it is possible to deploy Windows 2000 to the desktop. By coupling RIS with the IntelliMirror services, a complete desktop management strategy can be employed.
Deploying an operating system is no trivial task, and automating it with a software deployment application can be even more challenging.
