Cutscenes

This short chapter covers the creation of cutscenes and other similar scenes such as a title screen or the ending for DotGame. The word “cutscene” is usually reserved for short, animated interludes where the player simply watches. Typically, cutscenes tell the story of the game, chopped up into short interludes interspersed throughout the game.

This chapter is not about how to make cutscenes. That would take us too far afield from the purpose of this book, which is learning how to develop games. Technology has come so far that now there is little difference between movie making and cutscene making.
