Once you decide on the type of RAID array, you can choose a name for the logical volume
and the format of that volume. Typically, only mirrored RAID setups are used for the boot
volumes of servers.
Creating a Software RAID Mirrored Array
If you have a computer with more than one physical drive that meets the previously spec-
ified requirements, you can create a mirrored array.
1 Start up your computer with the Mac OS X Server v10.5 DVD and click the pointer to
use the language you wish to see throughout the installation process.
2 Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu and click any one of your disks on the left
side of the window.
