Associations come in all shapes and sizes. The budgets of most associations are less than $7 million with a median of $3.5 million.1 But some associations have budgets in excess of $25 million, and a few generate more than $1 billion. Larger budgets are associated with larger scope and scale. Greater size, scope, and scale impose complex management challenges and demand responses that are proportionate to the situation.
