It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Adding lights and real-time shadows
Depending on the position of your lamp in Blender, you will start to see shadows in the scene at the exact moment you set the view to rendered. Since Eevee uses a real-time display of shadows; you can select the lamp in the scene and move it around to see updates to the shadow position.
