For more than 25 years I’ve been primarily a skill set trainer. I’ve spoken and trained on why you need to do a task, how to do the task, and what the exact word choices and analogies to use to make the point come to life. Over the years I’ve understood that having a positive attitude was important, but I didn’t really give personal development and mindset the attention it deserved.
One of the things I experienced over the years is that when I went to speak for a half-day seminar, the group leader would say, “Oh, these two people left on fire and are ready to take their business to the next level.” Six months or so later, I’d speak to that same leader, and she’d share that one person took everything and ran with it and got amazing results, had been promoted twice, and had doubled their business, whereas the other person hadn’t changed, insisting they had tried the same strategies.
