Even though the thought of being self-employed may entice you, I find it’s the greatest struggle people have when starting their own business. Most people are used to being told exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to do it in their eight- to ten-hour-a-day job. Being self-employed requires a certain discipline that you may never have had to rely on before. However, you can do it with the proper tools, systems, and mindset.
Many people have the dream of being their own boss. They fantasize about working whenever they want, from wherever they want, with nobody telling them what to do or when to do it. Although that dream is certainly a snapshot of what being self-employed can look like, it’s just a tiny part of what success as an entrepreneur actually entails.
