14.2 General Architecture of SDD-1 Database System
The general architecture of SDD-1 is a collection of three independent virtual machines: Transaction
Modules or Transaction Managers (TMs), Data Modules or Data Managers (DMs) and a Reliable
Network (RelNet) [Bernstein et al., 1980]. DMs are responsible for managing all data that are stored
