Bioprocess simulations are increasingly important and gaining traction in the biotechnology industry to improve process development. Whereas extremely high complexity of biosystem has been a bottleneck for bioprocess design and simulation, recent advances in not only modeling and design strategies but also computational capabilities enable us to analyze, optimize, and operate bioprocesses in a more quantitative manner. This chapter presents an overview on procedures for effective bioprocess simulation.
