If you found one or more relevant meta-analyses, you may already have sufficient scientific evidence to answer your question. Unfortunately, for many topics, meta-analyses or systematic reviews are not available. In that case, your search will not yield any (or only irrelevant) articles, and you will have to look for high-quality primary studies – that is controlled and/or longitudinal studies (see Chapter 5).
