For some topics, even controlled and/or longitudinal studies are not available. In that case, we are left with no other option than to search for low-quality studies. In the first example above (360-degree feedback) we could go through all the titles and abstracts of all articles we have retrieved with the combined search query (see Figure 6.8), but most of these articles may concern non-empirical studies such as essays and theoretical papers.
