Integrated analog

Digital to Analog Converters (DACs) and Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) are used when converting between continuously varying analog values and associated digital representations of that value. Most often, these types of on-board peripherals will be lower resolution and lower frequency than what you'll find with external chips. However, depending on the requirements of your system, they can be extremely useful. Another useful peripheral is on-board comparators, which will signal the processor when an analog value is above or below a given threshold.
