In the case of STM, there are multiple IDEs offered by the same MCU vendor. Sometime after acquiring Atollic, STM rolled in a fully-customized version of Atollic TrueStudio with their STMCubeMX application, resulting in STM32CubeIDE. Although Atollic TrueStudio is still available, it is deprecated and not recommended for new designs.
