Audio support

High-fidelity audio support through Inter-IC Sound (I2S) is commonly available. Expect to find DMA channels attached to the I2S peripheral to minimize the amount of CPU intervention required for feeding data-hungry DACs and collecting data from ADCs on these buses.

This concludes our long list of hardware peripherals to look out for when evaluating MCUs. Next up is a topic that will be of specific interest to anyone interested in designing battery-or energy-harvesting devices: power consumption.
