Access Control using IAM

Using Google IAM, you can control access to your Google Cloud project. You can create roles in Google IAM and control access to your Google Cloud project. When you create a new Google Cloud project, whoever has created the project automatically gets an account created and they are the only ones who can access the Google Cloud project. No one else has access to the Google Cloud project until new users are created and given access to the resources in the Google Cloud project console.

To be able to access the Google Cloud console, users need a Google account. Once they have a Google account, then you can add them as team members to your Google Cloud Project.

Google IAM provides three built-in roles:

  • Editor
  • Owner
