When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Execution environment
Let's look at the execution environment of AWS Lambda. As covered earlier, AWS Lambda doesn't provide the ability to customize/choose the underlying operating system; however, it does let you choose the version of the language framework, such as the Node.js version. Let's look at the operating system and kernel that AWS Lambda uses and to provision the infrastructure to execute your functions:
- Amazon Linux is the operating system that AWS Lambda uses to execute functions. You can find additional details about Amazon Linux Amazon Machine Image (AMI) at https://aws.amazon.com/amazon-linux-ami/.
- AWS Lambda's current Linux kernel version is 4.9.75-25.xx.amzn1.x86_64.
