CHAPTER 6

BRAND-CENTRIC INFOGRAPHICS

Infographics can be an incredible tool in explaining your business, communicating its value, and holding your audience’s attention while you do it. As we discussed in the previous chapter, editorial content tends to have more broad appeal, thus garnering more attention and adoration. However, you don’t want to overlook the utility of information design in communicating a more branded message. We call this brand-centric content; that is, it is not intended merely to shed light just on any relevant, interesting topic in order to attract attention.

Instead, its goal is to communicate very specific ideas related to a company, its mission, and details about the products and services that it offers. This chapter will show how you can make traditional methods of communicating your value proposition more engaging by visualizing certain elements of them. We have identified several common areas of this communication that benefit greatly from the application of infographics.
