iPhoto remembers. When you adjust instant slide show settings—your own music soundtrack, transition settings, and photo durations, for example—iPhoto saves those settings, tying them to whatever you were viewing when you clicked the Play button. For example, if you were viewing an event, your instant slide show settings are saved along with that event. If you were viewing an album, the settings are saved with the album.
The next time you view an instant slide show of that item (event, album, face, and so on), iPhoto uses the settings it saved and immediately begins playing the slide show.
