5. Procedures
Apps can perform many different tasks. The more complex the application, the more programming is required to make these specific tasks happen. As you build more utility into your App Inventor apps, the number of blocks can get rather unruly. By learning to use procedures, you can keep your code nice and tidy while building in all the specific instructions necessary for each app.
The following section gives you a more detailed description of how procedures work in the App Inventor. Then we practice using some procedures before putting them to use in the exercise at the end of the chapter.
