Adding Animations
As the name implies, animations bring your apps to life. Modern smartphone apps are very interactive—they no longer host a stagnant palette of buttons or text. Mastering the animations components and blocks in App Inventor will go a long way toward making your app comparable with the kinds of choices available in the Google Play Store. To understand how to add animation to your apps, you should be familiar with the types of animations available in App Inventor.
We already dabbled with the three components in the Drawing and Animations section while building Flick. We created a ball on a canvas that could be flicked around the screen or moved with the accelerometer (see Figure 7.1).
