When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Data Policies versus ACLs
Data Policies are an effective means of controlling a few fields, and is probably the best way to ensure that a field has a value on the server before a record can be inserted or updated. When it comes to ensuring that a field (or a table) is fully inaccessible to users without a certain role however, ACLs are the way to go.
ACLs, short for Access Control Lists and otherwise known as Security Rules, are another means by which you can control access to elements within ServiceNow. They can serve much the same function as Data Policies, and a great deal more. One major difference between Data Policies and ACLs, is that ACLs are scriptable.
