As we learned in an earlier chapter, each table has one value that's set as the display value. This is the value that is displayed when the record is referenced in reference fields or elsewhere in the system. This field is usually, but not always, unique. The reference field can be changed by altering a field's dictionary record, but only one field can be a display field in a given table at one time.
getDisplayValue() is quite simple, as it accepts no arguments, and returns the display value for the record upon which it's called.
