I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Very little of the Web site’s material is repeated verbatim in the book; content has been rewritten and expanded for print use. Still, the knowledge provided by the hints on the site made this book possible in the first place.

Numerous people helped me with the Unix chapters—the most difficult part of the book (for me, anyway): Kirk McElhearn did an amazing job at updating both Unix chapters to reflect the new bash shell in Panther, and also added a number of new hints. Without his valuable assistance, this book would have been much slower in reaching completion!
